TROUBLESHOOTING POOL PROBLEMS

Black Spots	Black Algae	Vigorously brush spots daily Apply a triple dose of POOL SHOCK


Cloudy Water	Contaminant Buildup	Shock pool with BLAST OUT, BURST, or BLITZ to bring free chlorine back to ideal range of 1.0 - 3.0 ppm
	Chemical Residue	Switch to a stabilized chlorine such as CHLORINE TABLETS as your primary sanitizer
	High pH	Add pH REDUCER
	Algae	Add pH INCREASER or pH REDUCER to adjust pH to ideal range of 7.2 - 7.6 ppm. Shock pool with BLAST OUT, BURST, or BLITZ Wait 6-12 hours and treat pool with HALT 50 ALGAECIDE weekly to prevent reoccurances.
	Metals	Add METAL FREE or SUPER RUST & SCALE REMOVER Add POOL FIRST AID or SUPER FLOC Vacuum out waste
	Pool Filtration	Add FILTER CLEAN
	Unfilterable Particles	Add a pool clarifier such as SHIMMER, SUPER SHIMMER, or SEA-KLEAR


Corrosion of Metal Parts	pH Is Too Low	Add pH INCREASER to adjust pH to ideal range of 7.2 - 7.6 ppm.
	Total Alkalinity Is Too High	Add ALKALINITY INCREASER to raise total alkalinity to 80-150 ppm.


Dark Colored Water	Dissolved Metals - e.g., Redish-Brown = Iron Blue-Green = Copper Brown-Black = Manganese	Add METAL FREE or SUPER RUST & SCALE REMOVER Add POOL FIRST AID or SUPER FLOC Vacuum out waste
